Celebrating Women in the Electric Transition
The nascent EV charging industry is a playground for innovation and will require an extraordinary diversity of thought, background, and expertise to meet the moment. We’re proud to say Terawatt Infrastructure’s team is 44% women, and as we grow, so will that number.
As Women’s History Month draws to a close, Terawatt would like to highlight three of our newest team members who are incredibly driven and accomplished women working to make a difference in the electric transition. Read on to learn how their career paths led them to Terawatt and what excites them most about our mission to build the permanent transportation infrastructure of tomorrow.
Hope Gist, Product Development Manager
With a degree in civil engineering, Hope Gist has focused her career on creating sustainable communities from the very start. Through her past roles as senior site engineer at Motivate and civil engineer at the Atlanta BeltLine, Hope has developed a passion for supporting innovative urban mobility solutions, whether that be by bus, train, bike, EV, or on foot. Hope joined Terawatt to seize the opportunity of applying her passion to help fill the massive market gap in EV charging infrastructure while working with equally passionate colleagues.
As a product development manager at Terawatt, Hope uses her engineering expertise to manage projects from conception to completion, helping the team understand and smooth out technical issues that may arise.
“My background in civil engineering exposed me to various aspects of sustainable transportation design, development, and construction. Terawatt consists of a brilliant, motivated team of people that all have one goal in mind: building the next generation of transportation electrification solutions. It’s not an easy task, so I look forward to seeing what we accomplish together!” – Hope Gist
Emilia Sibley, Senior Director of Business Development
Emilia Sibley joined Terawatt Infrastructure with a career background spanning many areas that our business touches on – including charging infrastructure for electric truck fleets, digital automotive services, and renewables. In her previous role at Chanje, Emilia was instrumental in closing a $30 million deal with FedEx to deploy electric charging infrastructure across 40 locations in California. Her impressive track record and varied experience make her an invaluable addition to the Terawatt team.
As a mother of two, Terawatt’s mission of achieving an all-electric future free from pollution and the threat of climate change is especially close to her heart. In her new role as Terawatt’s senior director of business development, Emilia is responsible for building relationships with customers and understanding their challenges to put forth highly customized EV fleet infrastructure solutions. Emilia is proud of the work she does here at Terawatt and hopes to make the world a better place for generations to come.
“I am incredibly lucky to be a part of a company that is driven to electrify one of the most polluting industries in America. Terawatt’s mission and the problem we’re trying to solve is critical to climate, health, and social justice – not just transportation.” – Emilia Sibley
Julia Sher, Senior Manager of Acquisitions and Strategy
Like our CEO Neha Palmer, Julia is also a Google veteran. Julia started her career at Google as an intern and eventually came to help lead the Google Fiber Real Estate Team. She left Google to earn her MBA in real estate at The Wharton School, after which she entered the world of private equity real estate investment. Now at Terawatt Infrastructure, Julia is responsible for innovative site acquisitions and real estate strategies to fit a variety of customer needs and profiles.
“Working at a mission-driven company powered by brilliant people is what inspired me to join Terawatt. Everyone is on the same page when it comes to building out this emerging asset class. The transportation industry has a massive need for this product, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the strong team making it possible.” – Julia Sher
